I cannot emphasize how helpful the resources RefreshRD has provided for me are. The resource that I believe has been most helpful to me are the Quizlet flashcard decks that RefreshRD created. If you have never used Quizlet before, it is an online tool that allows you to create or use flashcards on your computer or through their app that you can download onto your phone. Quizlet has games that stimulate your mind and help you become familiar with the material and it also helps you track which cards you know and tracks the cards that you may need to work on some more. When studying for the exam before I became a RefreshRD student, I struggled. Not knowing exactly how much detail I should familiarize myself with for each topic was really stressful and I felt robbed of productive study time because of this. RefreshRD’s Quizlet decks removed the uncertainty of what to study and I immediately felt a weight lifted off of my shoulders when I began navigating through their decks. The flashcards are easy to read and understand and they provide the important details that we students need to know.
With the help of my tutor, Ilene, we created a study schedule that best suited my needs and my pace that I was working at. From there, I found it helpful to assign myself flashcard decks each day that correlated with each lecture and homework assignment and wrote it out on my planner to give myself a visual and some structure. When reviewing each deck, I began by staring 3 cards at a time to avoid overwhelming myself. I would then familiarize myself with each card by writing each concept down and then turning on the audio feature, where Quizlet reads the card out loud for you. Then, I used the ‘Learn’ tool and the gravity game to further enhance my knowledge of the cards in each deck. Lastly, I would use the ‘Test’ feature to assess which cards I need to dedicate more time to, if needed. If you haven’t utilized their Quizlet as a study tool, I strongly urge you to!
Best of luck to everyone and happy studying!
